    Pop's has a 70 GTX 440, has started stalling weirdly, and we're wondering if it is a fuel filter issue - pops says he's not sure he's ever changed it in the 36yrs he's owned it. It is a metal canister looking thing with not just an in and out nipple, but a little extra one that seems to go back...

    Yeah - 318 was swapped in a long time ago by who knows... Car has sat largely unused for a good couple decades, valve seals are shot, burns and leaks oil, largely neglected. Gonna change the oil and keep an eye on it. It's a throwaway engine but we'll nurse it along till he's rich and famous...

    We got all excited to have the 74 all running and driving well, and so the kid took off to a buddies, maybe 50 miles away. Well, anyway apparently the ol 318 was a couple quarts low (Dumb mistake I know) and now we've got some noticeable lifter rattle. DANG. Do we get away with a cam/lifter...

    It was one of the issues I think but also the voltage regulator being toast was the main thing. Thanks again for all your help.
