I have everything for the roll down windows, took them out of a Satellite in a junk yard. I was thinking of putting them in my car but changed my mind. If your local to Indiana we could make a deal.
I don’t pay anything, all 9 of my cars are paid off. Never even had a loan on any of them. I buy used, fix it myself if broken, and not worry about what the neighbors think.
60k is still cheaper than some of the new trucks people have out there now. Lots of cars are around those prices also. I’m not buying one but the price really isn’t out of the norm.
Why are you worried about the trunk color when the car itself is the wrong color anyway. Making the trunk the different wrong color is the same as being black to people that care about originality. Your car looks cool, you could drive it instead of putting it in paint jail.
One of these days I will have to start using those pages that tell you how to rebuild the water pump and how to rebuild the starter. The parts we get now a days are just junk. They even go bad sitting in the box waiting to be installed.
I paid $1200 to ship from San Jose to Indiana. The first guy I booked never showed up, second guy I booked drove an eighteen wheeler and was professional. Didn’t bother him that the car wasn’t drivable and didn’t have brakes. It’s an issue with some drivers. This was 7 years ago so I’m guessing...
You can a cheap reliable car outside of the US. The problem here is the insurance companies basically regulate what is required to build a car. Everything from 15 mph bumpers, third brake lights and back up cameras are the result of insurance companies.
Looks like a great car. I actually like the SE the most out of this generation. I would save those frame rails and buy a welder when you get a chance. The Hobart brand isn’t bad and isn’t expensive. You might find yourself doing a lot with it.
Mine doesn’t have headers, cast iron stock manifolds. I was thinking of making mine from rubber sheet that I have for roofing. It’s material I have around that I can experiment wish to get a tighter fit.
The original shield in mine has a hole about the size of a golf ball melted through it, so I’m guessing pretty close. My engine is still out or would have a picture for you, hopefully someone else chimes in
I would like to have stolen car alerts on my phone. The police are not going to look for your car if someone steals it, might as well get some help from people that might actually look for it. My truck was stolen and the police have called me four years in a row asking me if I have found it.
Roll down windows on an SE sounds interesting. I have a 74 Roadrunner and I have pulled roll down rear windows out of a Satellite just in case I want to do that with the roadrunner but might save them for an SE
