    Oil Pump Prime Procedure

    The slot is in the drive gear, it is engaged with the camshaft. You won't spin anything with that slot. Take the drive gear out, and the bottom end is a 5/16" Thats what drives the oil pump. The priming tool is 18 inches long.

    I will put a timing light on it and watch the mechanical advance that is. the vacuum advance kicks out at wide open throttle so that can't be it. you do need some heat in the intake for the fuel to vaporize.
