Do you have any weird first names in your family?

Damn....you could have saved that info for a monthly quiz......although @eldubb440 probably still would have won.

'71 road runner 383 purple cam? - how can I find the model/specs with distributor removed?

Part numbers and specs from the 1980 B-RB Engine Racing Manual; page 50. Note: They did not use the term "purple shaft". Excerpt from page 50: 1. Hydraulic Cams The first choice for a moderate performance improvement in the 1958-67 B-RB engines and the newer 383-400 2-Bbl. engines would be...

'71 road runner 383 purple cam? - how can I find the model/specs with distributor removed?

I have an NOS Direct Connection purple shaft from 1985 when I bought my '70 Charger. I just pulled it out of the box and checked it over. There are no identifying marks anywhere on it other than the conspicuous use of purple paint. The 1975 Direct Connection catalog does not use the term...

Theo Huxtable won't be down for breakfast

In the 70s, Mom and Dad were selling the house. We had an in ground DoughBoy pool. The real estate agent mentioned a black couple that wanted to make an offer but that it may be low because black people don't swim. I still shake my head at that one. Who really thinks that black people can't...

'71 road runner 383 purple cam? - how can I find the model/specs with distributor removed?

Not to my knowledge, only on the front of the cam gear smooth area and that’s got weird numbers some can decipher. I once witnessed at a Mopar speed shop a dial indicator that mounted in the lifter bore and the cam rotated one time to give a height or lift value that was kinda spot on but then...

A black guy drowning is about as predictable as a white guy getting skin cancer. Still, it's a shame. Seems like he was a good dude. https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/the-cosby-show-star-malcolm-jamal-warner-dead-54

'71 road runner 383 purple cam? - how can I find the model/specs with distributor removed?

'71 road runner 383 purple cam? - how can I find the model/specs with distributor removed?

I can’t remember if the new comp “purple shafts” were actually purple or not. It’s probably an old DC/MP purple shaft. The very early cams had identifiers on them(a system of colored stripes) but by the end of production in the 2000’s there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the markings and...

    Newer cars are stupid.

I really think that the biggest reason that many cars today last well into the 3 to 400,000 range, is mainly due to fact that damn near everything is monitored, yes, but the advent of overdrive transmissions lowering the RPM's the engine runs at when at highway speed.
