I got mine from a company on Ebay, painted black, the tanks look just like a stock original, sans part number. It works really well and fit nicely. It was around 280 delivered if I remember correctly. I went from overheating/running hot to cool as a breeze. I will look for a link and edit this...
New TXV should be sitting at O'Reilly's. This means the ac system will work soon. Yay! The entire system is getting an iverhaul when the engine comes out
After discussing this with WildRT, I decided to kill some baby seals and let all the 134 out of my system. I hooked up the gauges and turned the knob on the high pressure side, but when I opened the valve on the low pressure, the pressure jumped up a bunch. That confirmed my txv was stuck closed...
Monday night, I decided I had to know if I was right about the speedometer being stuck feom painting the needle. It was a pita but I got it apart and sure as crap, it was stuck on the needle stop. I flicked it, it went PING, and released. The paint had sried to the stop. Now I have a working...
I run E85 in all my hp cars, except the 1320. I run E15 in it and my coronet. The Sniper 2 injectors may or may not be E85 safe, so I'm not going to try it until I find out otherwise. I drive my E85 cars a lot and usually manage to find it out on the road.
Lol. You didn't read and understand my post, obviously. If it has a DOT number on it, it's street legal. I run street legal classes and those tires conform. Slicks do not have a dot number.
But they are DOT legal. They have a DOT number, hence street legal. The 'not intended for highway use' is a legal escape clause in case you get caught in the rain and wipe out.
Another recommendation for halifaxhops, gave him my distributor Saturday at Carlisle, he called me Thursday and it's on its way to me already. Ray is a member here and a veteran, 2 giid reasons to trust he'll do you right. Can't wait to get mine back and in the car so I can ditch the pertronix...
Well, scratch that, it is not working again. TXV is frosting up. Head pressure is high, suction is low. TXV is not opening all the way for some reason.
So the trip to Carlisle was eventful, to say the least. That'll be a long story, kind of like the war and peace of car show stories.
Anyway, the ac was not working. We figured out the most likely candidate for a leak was the high pressure inlet to the condensor. I took it apart(it was loose)...
The bracket would be different, locating the caliper inboard 1/2" for the smaller rotors. I used 73 dart stuff on my 66 coronet and 78 aspen stuff on my 66 belvedere. I looked at the scarebird stuff, but went the stock route out of pure laziness.
