Just for comparison. My '71 Charger SE with 528 gen 2 cast iron hemi has aluminum heads, intake, water pump, and radiator. A833 trans and dana 60. With full gas, full spare and me weight is 4280 Lbs. I weigh in at 180 lbs. so high level math comes out at 4100 lbs. for car.
In 1973 I bought a '72 Vega GT. Red with a 4 speed, about 15000 miles. I liked the styling (chicks also). It was a good car for me (work and local school) and I put a lot of miles on it. I would add about 2000 miles per month and I would change oil/filter. Not a good winter car but that is what...
1991 Dodge W250, Cummins 12 valve non intercooled, 5 speed manual. Spent many years in Palm Springs area. Much of the paint is sun baked. 180,000 miles
I have done this to my '71. Bought the new "skins" from Legendary. It is tedious but can be done.
1) originals had the innermost window wipers stapled to the steel. I do not have the capability to staple through steel so I used black rivets from McMaster-Carr
2) you will need to re-use the...
Here we have a practical application of Newton's first law: objects in motion tend to stay in motion unless acted upon by the knees or friction from pavement.
And Star Trek: if the two should meet we will have total and complete annihilation.
For purposes of comparison: My '71 charger SE originally N 383/727/8 3/4 is now MP 528 mega block gen 2 hemi/A833/9 3/4. I went to Dennys Driveshaft for a new shaft.
Measuring from the extension housing output shaft seal flange to the center of the rear yoke cap is 53.5" with the weight down on...
7 months previous I just graduated from University of Illinois. Landed my first full time job working in a quality control lab straight midnight shift 10pm to 6 am. Relieving shift could not make it in so I worked another 8 to cover. Can remember it very well. '77-'78 was no prize either.
My experience with my '71 charger is that the glass clips are the same. However, the roof drip rail molding may be different due to the change in thickness because of the vinyl top being folded over the rail (or not). May have to consult the assembly manual.
On my '71 charger: front 255/60-15 on 15X8, Rear 275/60-15 on 15X8. I have manual steer so at crawling speeds it can be harder to steer. Increase speed slightly and no issue.
