Has anyone compared the top aluminum radiators for Mopars?

I have a 26" in one of my cars. Wizard. Fits on stock mounting. OE shroud fits on radiator. Most importantly, cooling with OE fan & clutch ( required smaller clutch ) functions very well, no problems.

Crappy cars that have become classics.

Top o' my list : 75-81 GM F-body Camaro and Firebird, especially the Smokey Bandit Trans Am. Overweight slugs. In my view, the poster child of the 70's of a great car transformed into a loafing oaf. If I had the $$ at the time I might've bought a 73/74 SD-455, one of the best cars at the time...

How airtight were b-bodies when new?

The windshield wiper pivot seals are a common culprit for leaks on the 70-earlier models. And why many a front floor pan has dissolved.

How airtight were b-bodies when new?

"How airtight were b-bodies when new?" asks the OP. Well, I worked on these cars when they WERE new and almost new. It seems every Mopar that came into the garage had a symptom of wind noise... or a leak... or a rattle... if it were a 70-older car. Those symptoms were nowhere near as prevalent...

How airtight were b-bodies when new?

From my personal experience back in the day, the b bodies up to 70 were not very good air, water, or rattles. The restyle in 71 was a dramatic improvement.

Best way to remove 4 speed trans

One at a time, replace the upper trans bolts with extension studs. Then remove the trans. The studs will act as a guide and align the trans when you re-install.

Cooling issues 69 RR 440 at wits end!

Yes ! don't understate the importance of having air move THROUGH the radiator, NOT above, around, or underneath it ! Hood seal, baffles, lower shield all add to the direction of air through the radiator.
