I can't speak to the small blocks but CME is doing my build right now and have so far been awesome to deal with. Before I ordered I spoke with another member (KnoGood) that recently took delivery of his built 440 and also found them very professional to deal with and everything came in great...
Getting closer to Angrybird coming back together. Waiting on track# when CME ships my crate. New Exhaust arrived along with everything to get my heater box back together (new Core, foam), alternator, clutch disc and some other odds and ends!
Ordered a set of Doug's 2" Ceramic Coat headers...
I've also ordered an engine from CME this week. I'm sure you guys will be able to post your experiences/results before I get mine but I will keep updated as the process moves along. I've been dealing with Ritchie there and I have nothing but good things to say this far in the process
...Now that I have the engine I think "should get poly loc motor mounts" and upgrade the bushings so I don't have to do this again in 10 yrs!
At CME I recommend you talk to Mike the owner - after that make your decision. They have a lot of good people there but he's the boss and all things...
If u want to be original get a 392 hemi with hiborn injection and stuff it in your engine bay. I say get a motor from CME or one of them outfits. Its cheaper in the long run and you get a warranty too. That's the way I'm leaning for my next project. I learned the hard way. $ goes really quick...
My Roadrunner is getting the following treatment
Complete rewire with upgraded EZ Wiring Fusebox
Engine Bay Refresh
New CME Crate Motor - 522 525hp/625tq
Most likely new clutch
Wizard Cooling Rad with upgraded cores and 4 fan shroud
New Dr. Diff 489 third member with 3:55 ratio
New Mechanical...
...teeth in the bottom of the pan. Took a closer look and they're from the timing gear. No real idea what would cause this I've been in touch with CME and it sounds like they'll send a new gear and chain but I definitely find this odd... the only thing that stands out is potentially a defective...
I ordered the same engine and received it last month
Here's the link to my thread if you want to see a bit of the info on mine

Agreed with Raz.... I was also told 6-8 weeks and...
...to your questions but if there is something specific that my build can help you with I'm sure I can get the answers
1) New Crate Motor from CME 522 Stroker - http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?55867-CME-crate-engines
2) Wizard Cooling 22" Rad with upgraded cores and...
Thanks Hemirunner, Good info! The blower will be going on a 522 CME Crate that is 10:1 with the MSD "ready-to-run" ignition and aluminum (stealth) heads. Cam is 540 Lift 286/236 Duration Ground to 112 LSA but installed at 108 (assuming I would be best to remove and install straight up)...
...low profile 2" to be safe. (measured off my carb to existing height of air cleaner lid and I have 3 1/4" there.
Motor is a 522" Stroker from CME approx 10:1 compression and currently cam grind is a 112 degree centerline installed at around 108.
Will consider Flatout spacers to lower...
...He explained the c.i.d. torque multiplier theorem and told me "get a 440 or you are wasting your money". With that, I changed my mind went to CME and bought just that with a steel crank, rpm manifold, msd distributor, quick fuel carb ... and just worked with Mike and Ritchie on other...
Thanks for the reply about CME engine crate motors. They are my No1 choice so far. But now I have found a new problem for my motor choice. After I made a user name and password for CME's web sight, and looked around on the sight, I found out that I can have my numbers matching 130,000 mile 383...
Yep! you are correct buy strickly from a mopar machine shop I had a local shop that is known for great quality engine builds not realizing that they really do 75% ford, 20% chevy and 5% the what ever comes through the door. I had them rebuild my 440 had it dynoed 490 hp 536 ftTQ sounds great...
I know sweet5ltr runs them pretty hard.
I did research on CME a few years ago, and noticed their warranty specifically does NOT exclude racing.
That's pretty cool, right there.
Just curious from the last two posters-
What products did you buy? size, short/long/complete? What special...
I had my 440 initially built by CME.. I have thousands of miles on the shortblock with mods in sig..
AWESOME COMPANY, second to none in quality, price, and customer service. One engine builder completes your build from start to finish. They have a great warranty. The only other company I could...
My longblock was rebuilt by CME and I couldn't have asked for anything better. No leaks, no issues, fired up first turn of the key. They actually went out and found me two six pack rod replacements out of state. We couldn't rebuild the engine locally for anywhere near what they done it for at...
Hey, if you are looking for a good engine builder look for CME Carolina machine engines - they provided a performance rebuild on my road runner and i was very happy with the build.
I am going to send them my 340 to work on next

...from them. I can tell you one thing. I wouldn't let a shop around here do any work for me. They only know Chevy stuff and small block ford crap. CME has a good reputation and was also featured in MoPar Muscle a few years back.
Heck, everyone keeps buying from Indy and I hear a lot of horror...
