sounds good, the rcs i use sells ppg so im not sure why they didn't check on their system when i asked them. i'll call in the morning and see if they can't find anything through ppg
does anyone know of a good brand that replicates 66 GG1 sequoia green poly? i talked with axalta and they said they don't have a mix for it anymore and recommend a paint code that was supposed to be close and it's way different. wondering if anyone's had any luck with a good paint manufacturer...
good information thanks. not a big fan of comp stuff, had one fail break in and a buddy of mine had one run grooves in his lifters after a year. sounds like yours is a bit older though so i bet qc was better back then. i've got manual brakes/ and it's a stick so im not super limited on cam...
okay i'll have to do some research for a good cam that is what i'm looking for. the heads are gonna need some new guides as well from the looks of it, one of the valves is seized in the guide. maybe it'll clean up. would you have any recommendations for pistons if i went with a closed chamber...
with the pitting in the 5th and 2nd cylinder i think it would be better to bore it to clean it up and give me a good peace of mind. plus it's got a pretty good ring ridge. i'm not too stuck on stock appearance as someone's already put some aftermarket parts on the motor. is there any cast heads...
i've seen similar posts to this but none were very straight forward with what i am looking for so i'm going to ask here. if anyone's been following my other posts i got a 66 coronet 383 4 speed # matching. i finished all the suspension, steering, most interior is redone, and i've gotten to the...
i've had issues with cast heads and ended up getting the thick black gaskets with indian head sealant to seal. on a machined aluminum surface with a flat valve cover surface i'd assume this stuff would be plenty. i have fought about half of my mopars to seal at the valve cover gaskets at some...
Hey guys, just finished up the rear brakes on the 66 coronet i got recently that i posted about and i have some questions about the front brakes. it's 10" drums all the way around. the front brakes are gutted so ive got no reference. the shoes front and back are interchangeable, but was...
right i feel happy with what i paid for it. 383 turns over but doesnt run. but it looks like its got some speed parts on it. and it's internally balanced so it may be forged crank. we will see in due time.
Well i did it. if any of you guys were following my thread in the "what's it worth" forum, i bought the green 66 i was asking about. i ended up paying $6750 for it as thats what he said he had into it, and he let me swap seats that are almost immaculate from another coronet and grab a couple...
i actually took an 8 minute walk around video of the car. all those places are solid besides the back window still has trim on it so i cannot see that and the package tray area i have not checked. if im ever up at his place again ill have to check those out. i go up there quite a bit for parts...
Never thought of that, considering the window is laying in the car why wouldn't a guy spend the hour to put it in so the inside of the car doesn't turn into an over engineered swimming pool. also coincidentally the car is from oklahoma. i wonder if you've ever passed the car and never even...
Lol. it's been set in since i saw the car for sure. i'm gonna sit on it for at least a month though before i do anything. got lots of things to do on my dart, torino, and my car trailer im re doing. one thing that's always stuck with me is when my uncle was alive he used to always say something...
how about this, when i buy the car ill send you the vin and you can put my name next to it on the registry LOL. but seriously i really like this car. i may pay close to his ask just to have a nice foundation to start with. i love this era of b bodies. and yes i'll message you the vin, id love to...
Too bad too, it's a nice foundation to start on, you don't see a lot of practically rust free cars around here. 5k is a generous offer still imo. who knows i may get a call from him in a month or something saying it's a deal.
