I believe on a factory OEM oil pan, the "full" mark on the indicator falls near the top lip of the oil pan. So in theory, if you measure how much water it takes to fill your oil pan to the top, you'll have a good idea of it's capacity.
That said, I've heard some say the purpose of the deeper...
So now that I'm over the shock, I still want to find it. With heads and water pump off, how can I pressure the system to check for the intersect? Run the oil pump with some cheap oil and look for leaks somewhere?
Would be nice if I could pressure the oil system with say 30 psi of air and see...
I would go with what the manufacturer put in the compressor for use. These systems are not very large and linesets and evap/condenser are about equal sizes. If you add too much oil in, it will degrade the cooling capability.
Is there a sticker on the compressor? It states oil fill.
@pnora
I am using an Earls branded relocation kit, Holley owns them so I go it with another order.
That is correct, when I first noticed that there wasn't any oil pressure I unscrewed the filter and oil sprayed out with some force. I was surprised by this because the handheld wasn't showing...

or Tubi or Max etc.
Engine Masters season 5 episode 3, Pantastic News
covers whatoil does in the pan & running
they did cover the pick up height slightly IIRC too
adding extra oil, is not a great idea in many cases depending on the pan
you can get bad windage &...
This is a Used Oil Pressure Gauge Sending Unit. It is for
a oil pressure gauge, not a idiot light. I can no longer
remember what year or model this one came out of, but I'm
sure it worked or I wouldn't have saved it. $15.00. Local
pickup, or buyer pays shipping.
Yes, have a repop sending unit and I guess I shouldn’t complain with the Autometer gauge telling me what’s up. Factory gauge is about 10-15psi off depending what motor is doing.
I didn't get a chance to remove the lines and crank the engine I got distracted with something else. That said, I did remove the oil filter and while it was not full (it is upside down so I am sure it did drain some) it did have a fair bit of oil.
So, my conclusions at this point are (correct...
Pressure differential is what opens the bypass valve. That differential could be caused by restriction due to clogged filter media. If your entire oil supply is so coagulated that it is causing the filter to bypass 100% your oil is not going to pass through the bearing clearances either and...
What power steering fluid do we use in a 1966 Charger or a Mopar in general. Seems they would all be the same. At least in the 60's. The 66 shop manual says to use part no 2084329. That doesn't help much. I recall many of the older units used ATF but I cannot find any info on what we should...
The oil slinger was installed correctly. That is what happens to a lot of them w certain double row timing chains, not from a grinder. Leaves lots of metal in oil obviously. I removed my slinger as it doesn't make any difference.
Alrighty ...
I have been working on assembling the 318 that's going in my 65 Coronet.
Tonite I Installed the oil slinger and felt seal that goes in front of the slinger.
Installed the fuel pump. Lubed the pushrods on each end and reinstalled the rocker shafts.
All went well.
So I took an...
Hey guys,
I just got a "new" to me 1968 Charger with a "rebuilt" 383. Come to find out the guy I got it from had 0 idea on how to build the car and did a lot of things very half assed.
The oil pressure gauge in the car doesn't work so hooked a mechanical gauge to it. I think the car sat for...
In 1973 I bought a '72 Vega GT. Red with a 4 speed, about 15000 miles. I liked the styling (chicks also). It was a good car for me (work and local school) and I put a lot of miles on it. I would add about 2000 miles per month and I would change oil/filter. Not a good winter car but that is what...
I bought oil every time it was on sale, and just stuck it in my mess of a garage. Then one day I put it all in one place, and realized I had a couple hundred quarts (not completely a bad thing, two diesels and one racecar change each will take 37 quarts)
What annoys me is the cost of filters. I...
The adjusters are about 2 threads out, adjuaters and cups are 5/16. Cambearings are the same since total engine build 5 years ago and it came oil thru the rockers on both sides when i primed the engine while spinning the engine by hand. The biggest problem is that i live in Sweden so getting...
i have 2 early 392 hemis on the shelf that i have had for over 50 years. they were pulled from a 57 imperial 4 door with 57k original miles, and a 58 imperial crown 2 door with 99k original miles.
at the time, i had the 58 running, and it sounded good. i never heard the 57 run, as it needed a...
