I replaced mine a few years ago and YES they were very tough to get the stalk shafts inserted! I used emory cloth/fine sand paper to polish the shafts and even put grease on them and really had to force them on. They're stiil very tight to flip up and down, need 2 hands and have to rotate near...

    Excessive brake pedal travel

Do you know the bore size of the master cylinder? The smaller the bore, the more travel it requires to displace the same amount of fluid. I think B-Body power disc brake master cylinder bores are around 1" - 1.125". How far is the pedal from the floor to start with? Is the brake booster pushrod...

The Prince of Darkness won't be down for breakfast

RIP Ozzy. You truly changed the world with your music - you may not have altered governments or ended wars, but your music reached billions of people and we'll never be the same again. Prayers for those you left behind.

Pull the rod and spray some silicone lube in the hole and the rod. You may have to clamp the rod.

    HP stamping

You're right, that's my opinion. Anybody that wants to pay more for a stamping is welcome to do it. An hp stamp means nothing to the strength of the block, they were all the same. And having a 70 block in a 70 car does not make it number matching, any more than a 66 or 76 would.

What is the fuel pressure? Are you running a vacuum advance? If so cap it off and see how it runs.

    Excessive brake pedal travel

I have quite a bit of pedal travel, but the Tukvan stops. All new bits. I will watch this thread for ideas. Originally I thought bleeding was the issue. I also heard the master cylinder can fail. That is also new.

I just took out the fan and fan clutch, should be fine, not running a shroud. The 7 blade fan works great and is very tight to radiator. Runs 180 all day long

The Prince of Darkness won't be down for breakfast

The local classic station is non stop Ozzy right now. War Pigs at the moment. Who was the last big name in Rock to check out? I graduated in 1983 so a lot of these guys were at least 10-15 years older than me…most were born in the early 50s. Given their lifestyles, I’ll bet that during the next...
