Much thanks for everyone's opinions and information! I'm probably going with the driver's hinge from American Muscle Car Parts on eBay. The vendor said it has the 4" center bar which I think that's what I need. The ad noted that the part might be warehoused in a town about a 45-minute drive from...
I agree. I'm looking at a 1970 set (with teeth) for sale but I'd like to find a driver's side hinge that matches my passenger's side hinge. Thanks for your information and good luck with your new hinges for your Charger!
Thanks for posting. Both of my Challenger hinges look like the blue one on the right (no teeth). The difference is my passenger side hinge has the "long" center bar while the driver's side has the short center bar. The long center bar hinge works perfectly and is aligned to the fender when...
I agree with your assessment of years of your life in labor, if you can do it yourself, or you'll pay high rates for someone else to do the body and paint work. Consider the cost of the parts to replace the rusted frame rails, floor pans, and probably trunk pan and then the labor cost to install...
I had that same "pushing down the back of the hood to be level with the fender" issue on the driver's side when closing the hood on my '70 Challenger. The passenger side hinge closes all the way down, level with the fender like it should. I bought an NOS hinge for the driver's side but when I...
Very nice Bee! Due to its early production August 10th build date, that might be why the fender tag didn't have the sunroof code. Probably later-built cars had the M51 code listed.
I'm surprised that the Charger owner is not sure if he wants the motor at this time. Finding numbers matching engines (especially Hemi engines) to one's car is invaluable. If they ever resell the car, the matching numbers engine will really increase the value of the car. To each their own, I guess.
Fantastic gesture, wanting to reunite these Hemi engines with the current owners. If those owners are out there, I'm sure they'll pay a handsome price. Thanks for posting.
I've been involved in this hobby for 49 years when I bought a 1956 Thunderbird in 1974 so I'm very aware of and have followed the hobby since then. I bought a '71 Cuda 340 convertible in 1981 and it was my daily driver until 1988. I've gone to the Mopar Nats since 1986 so I'm pretty aware if...
