67 is completly built balanced fact crank eagle rods and trw pist balanced 915 heads worked ss valves
340 has j40 6pk heads and is 400+hp with trans and all linkages , 727 sb 3500 stall carb to pan complete mtr 4,500 for both and i throw in another set of 915 heads...

and the # 1 reason for the spike?????other than the reversed water pump blades????
the replacement alt was spiking the electric temp gage to read 60* f-ing degrees off geeez.... put the old one back on charges just fine...
well that didnt work
15 min at idle and water gage pegged....not good
gonna knock out some plugs ,or just pull the mtr and do a rebuild and magnaflux the block gotta be done or i'll burn this sucker up
always reuse what i can,put the orig spring back in the lower hose ,i thinks me got her straighten out ....used a high flow water water hose and washed out the block and evidently from it sitting ,slugg had buildt-up and was trapping the water inside the mtr and not allowing wtr...
still running hotter than hell
well almost everything checks out . the dash gauge reads out of the box hot and the manual gage reads 210-230 at same time ...gonna figure this gal out gonna try the orig radiator although it hasnt been re-worked yet.
update ...timing off 4-8 degrees added a coolant additive

running 30% coolant ,has a shrould and is pulling a lot of air thu rad
