Ok. Not seeing that unit, but do see others. Saw one base, MRE28170, that may be it. The others shown are formed to fit the center hung bowl Holley's. You might look into finding a shorter element. I believe the one on my MP unit is a Wix 42044. It's a little under 3". Maybe 2.750 or 2.625? Can...
To stretch the spring prior to installing a floor jack is the tool of choice, hook one end on the cup, the other to the front axle, stretch it a little & stick in the washers......
Pedal on the floor is the shortest distance so the easiest position to attach the spring...
