I saw some dork on Facebook asking $250 for a set of 906’s that were rusted on the head surface even. Like from sitting flat in a damp surface.
This one is a sleeper.
I’m seriously thinking of restoring a set of Motor Wheel Spyders I have with some radials.
I’ve put 1,000 miles since April on these skinny bias plys.:steering:
I've knocked a jar full out of stuff out a block.
In So Cal, people can get away with and/or cheap out on NOT using antifreeze or water pump lubricant (used to sell it under that name).
So you end up seeing some really rusty water passages even though the outside looks nice and the block is...
I think with heavy scale, the chemicals don't do the complete job. It will look pretty on the outside though.
You gotta get in there and look around every passage with a light. Some are in decent shape. But with50-60 year old block many you have to knock the scale out.
They typically are not going to put extra the time to chip away and find on the rust scale.
I mean they could do it, but for the time it would take you would balk at the $$ charge.
I do see businesses like Target, Home Depot, bowling, kids place, etc that would be open on a Saturday night at 4pm.
of course, I've never been there. So I have no idea if parking lot fills up or what's going on behind scenes.
These malls out here are getting pinched for revenue, and they look...
Sad to hear.
I've seen this happed with cruise-in at multi-business malls before. Usually it's the shop owners saying the Cruise-In is taking parking and/or traffic that's getting in the way of regular business.
As a result the morning ones were/are strict about getting everyone out before...
Common thing.
When they are cut, it does show off the carbs better. And it makes tuning adjustment a little handier.
There's a few other examples pictured here:

I suggest you add Hemi to your subject line.
They are out there. People are sitting on them. Especially 66-67 Hemi Charger's since they are so expensive to restore and 66-67 Hemi B-bodies missing drivetrains.
