The pump being submerged in the tank should be getting cooled by the fuel. I doubt the tail pipes are heating the pump. Also, I never liked how it sounds with a T/A-AAR style exhaust. You only hear the 4 cylinders firing out each side. It doesn't have that good sound like when both exits out...

Crazy what these are selling for these days no matter what year or applications. I had probably scrapped or given away 50+/- of various year air cleaners over the years back when aftermarket chrome everything was cool.

All of them. They were all built cheap and they were built fast to get them out the door, just like today but with style. However, I love all of them today because of their timeless classic looks and the old family and friends stories that came with them.

It's close. My 70 Charger is a California car and has the N95 emissions and N97 noise reduction package (hood insulation) and it rubs the top of the air cleaner lid with factory dual fours street hemi inline carbs set up. Probably about 3/4" from the actual hood.

To me. I think the red tins go with the turquoise color engines better than the red tins go with the orange engines and then the orange tins with the orange engines looks best.

These were either just factory prepped or in some case outsourced drag cars or production every day average family cars at that time. Seems to me the term musclecars didn't become the phrase until the early 80's. No one expected so many to last 50-60+ years and now have such value. I missed...

These are always priced all over cost wise. I have seen them from $500 to $2500 depending on condition and how complete they are.
