...But I'm not new to Road Runners. So here is my dilemma. The VIN is RM21G4G the fender tag also qualifies that. The motor however clearly reads 340. To be more precise, it reads MH 340R the following numbers I believe are 38480155 get a little hard to read (see photos). I have had this vehicle...

Sell both at $75.00 bucks, plus...
That 340 powered Volare was on Marketplace a month or so ago for 11K was already sold when I inquired about it. 70 Satellite and 69 Road Runner seem fairly priced but hard to tell without seeing it.

I will sell it for $45.00 bucks, plus whatever the mailman will want to your zip code.

73 340 were 1.88 Intake.
73 318 were 1.78 Intake.
On a relative stock 340 head, I could not
find any difference on a flow bench or at the
track between the 1.88 and 2.02. On a modified
head properly ported = yes there was a difference but
not really as much as I would have expected.
We race a...
I've had a couple 340s in B Bodies. Just my opinion... except for the Hemi, the best engine Ma Mopar ever produced. The power-to-weight ratio is far better than most big blocks. And they're high-revvers!
Every 20 lbs of weight reduction is like adding 10HP. The 340 weighs 145 lbs less than...
Have a buddy with a Duster and a 340. It uses the Mopar electronic ignition kit. The vacuum advance has failed. Is there a replacement part that is specific for those distributors.
Why not pick up another 340 block if your not content with doing a 360. 340s are out there. You could do a stroker and save a bunch of time and money swapping over parts off your current 340 and keep down time minimal. Your goals are doable with a small block and if your thinking that painting...
This is a OEM 1970 to 73 340 vacuum advance #3656066.
It works good, but could use a cleanup. $25.00. Local
pickup, or buyer pays shipping.
This is the correct distributor vacuum advance for the
following with 340 CID engine and electronic ignition:

Fyi...a 318 LA head also has smaller intake and exhaust ports then the 340 and 360 did. Even if someone was building a stroked 318...I would use a head with the bigger ports. 340 and 360 had bigger valves as well, at least on the older engines. I wouldn't consider using a LA 318 head on a...
...NOx (oxides of nitrogen). It is in the path from the vacuum advance on the distributor to the ported vacuum port on the carburetor. For the 340 Thermo-Quad,it is on the front lower left at the base.
From the 1973 factory service manual for 318/340/360:
OSAC port on the Thermo-Quad...
