...end with a 440 or 400, but try explaining this to a 5 foot 2 54 year old Asian lady that's pissed off already. I also dont want to rebuild the 340 because I do want to drive my car this summer, and I know rebuilds take a while so if I pull the 340 to rebuild itll be a while
Kind of a made my...
Coming from the A body side of the auction block, the 67-69 Barracudas have always been worth good money. Demons and Dusters are next with the 340 4 speed cars being at the top of the heap. Some of those are selling for $35+ g's. 340 powered Swingers are next with the 318 cars following close...
Hi all. Needing a little help or maybe some moral support. I am in the process of getting a 340 street/cruiser ready for install while the body is getting overhauled. I found that the valve guides are worn out so I have a set of X heads that I had partially done back in 1991 and decided to...
I have a 1970 340 engine with 680 miles on it since being rebuilt. This was professionally built by a well-known stock/super stock NHRA builder.
It is a solid roller cam with Harland Sharp rockers. The one and ONLY issue with this engine is we made the decision (which I regret now) to not bush...
I have a one inch long bolt for my 340 camshaft. But after going through the special washer that does not leave a whole lot of thread contact with the camshaft. Just wondering if anyone knows for sure the correct length? Thank you.
The 305 that was in Brooks #22 Daytona was a destroked 340 wedge, not a hemi.
It was basically the same as a MoPar Trans Am 305 used in the 1970 Gurney AAR
'cuda and the Posey Challenger. Keith Black built it.
The #22 305 engine redline was 8400-8500. Max HP was at 7,800 rpms
Intake was a...
...318 charger...the system was free as it came on a buddy's 67 Coronet 318, and he's going to a big block. My system was built off of a set of 71 340 exhaust manifolds. not sure why they used the 340 manifolds instead of the 318 manifolds. Problem is, the 340 port size is much bigger than the...
Thank you. Learned something today. My interest in this thread is my brothers 340 Cuda (same intake and carb as Dibbons) has kickdown issues at cold start. My brother's TQ really needs a rebuild btw.
I’m looking for a 1970,71, 340 air cleaner. I’d prefer one that’s not perfect because my engine bay is not perfect. Also looking for a set of 1970 340 valve covers. Thanks!

Nice project. Nice of your wife to do for you. I would certainly bore and stroke the 340 since you already have it. I have had a couple of mildly built 340's that would run right with some 440's. 340's are no slouch.
