Gut reaction - like the others - new pistons with good/low deck clearance. However, it REALLY depends on how far down they are now. Because, like @DanielSlocum said, you may just put smaller cc heads on it. If the pistons are in the hole over 0.100... I would put new pistons in because you're...

Agree with post #24. And #30. DUMP all the old fuel, start diagnosis with fresh, and only a couple gallons, in case you have to drop the tank. Lots of good advice here. My first thought was a fuel delivery problem, but too tight valves are also a possibility. Does it have an adjustable valvetrain?
