How old were you when you bought your first house?

Common theme here. Had to sacrifice and first house was modest. What I see these days is young people moaning they can't afford a home and those that do deserve a palace. That's where I live anyway. I worked lots of weekends, lots of nights, lots of out of town and lots of overtime. There is no...

How old were you when you bought your first house?

I was 26. My son made me proud though, finished his apprenticeship at 22 and bought his house at 21. He's building a Hellcat powered 68 Charger too, so I did something right I think.

    Torq Thrust Wheel History

They look good on anything it seems. I was binging on them for awhile. New ones and old ones.

When is enough going to be enough? Wtf?

Amazing how the ad guys could even make a 68 Hemi Charger look great with full wheel covers.

When is enough going to be enough? Wtf?

Last time I tried them was on my 69 Hemi GTX. The look just washed out IMO, too plain and dark. Never tried them again. Looked way brighter with 15X7 rallyes, I should have bought torque thrusts for it. Note even my trailer had better wheels than painted cheapies.

For Sale: Not Mine Coronet R/T vert sold cheap at Mecum

Good car to drive as-is I think. Even doing the trunk floor could open a can of works you don't want to deal with. However just wash and drive it and sell it again when you're done having fun with it. I'd have to fix the ride height first thing though. They don't all have to be better than they...

Crappy cars that have become classics.

Chevy II or whatever they were called had real flexy flier frontends in them. I spoke with a few GM guys that told me after a few power shifts they would move around and need a front end alignment. Then theres the great powerglide anything. I found the Chevies of the day could run hard and...

    MrMoparts? are you serious?

Could be. I bought lots from them a bit more than 10 years ago with no issues.

Edge knocked off corner of 77 400

Never seen that: A hack method of separating the cylinder head is my guess.

How to repair this fender ?

What 68rt440 did. In the end that is the least amount of work too and it will provide the best result.

The Canadian Chevelle in Pet Semetary: Bloodlines.

I like the Beaumont SD-396's. Chevy Rat motor combined with the nice GTO style dash. There were quite a few of them in our town.

Welcome from 2 hours north of you. That's a clean car, I remember it being advertised.

    My newest favorite Mopar!

Good looking car. For the second gens my favorite is the 70 as well. I like the high back buckets, door scoops, wraparound front bumper and availability of 15X7 wheels.

Pics from Back in the Day

My car, around 1986 I believe, photo taken by a friend. Lots of cool $#^% for the time. Gold box, lots of chrome, highbeams that could roast a moose before you hit him when doing 130MPH at night, H rated radial T/As. I still dig the FM3 painted shaker we did at the time. Note the SIAC and CCOA...

How in the H did I break this?

The chrome will be mildly tarnished by spot welding. If it bothers you, have them rechromed or powdercoated black wrinkle. New repros are going to have the same tiny little tag welds as these ones did anyway.

Look for advice on a low mileage 70 Satellite that I am considering purchasing.

If this was a Road Runner or a GTX, then maybe $10k depending on what it came with it. But this is a 318 Satellite that needs everything. Wait for a better one. Doing all your own work including body, paint, engine, trans, rear diff and interior you will lose money, lots of money. For $10k if it...

How in the H did I break this?

Grind the chrome mating surface and have it spot welded. It's been some years so I would guess it finally vibrated loose.

    1969 Road Runner preservation

I love this car every time I see a photo of it. This car represents why I loved 69 Road Runners since 1969. The way it sits on those road wheels, colour, options etc. 1969 Road Runners are one of those cars that always look good whether on fat tires, in primer with a few dents etc. but stock and...
