I haven’t had any success diagnosing the issues with my electronic ignition, so I'm considering reverting to a points-style distributor.
What are the steps involved in making that switch?
I realize it’s been a little while, so I wanted to give you a quick update.
I’ve replaced both the starter switch and the starter relay, but unfortunately, that didn’t resolve the issue.
While running some tests today, I noticed that the negative side of the coil isn’t pulsing during cranking.
The Ferguson reminds me of the one on my Dad's farm. It was a 1954 2085, the last of the Gray ones. In 1955, Ferguson hooked up with Massey-Harris to become Massey-Ferguson. The new M-F 35 now had red sheet metal, but retained the Ferguson Gray on the mechanicals.

Not all 727's have accumulator springs. So no spring or blocker rod would not cause a 2/3 slip. Does it have a restrictor in the high/rev clutch feed port in the case? Did you pressure check the KD band servo for pressure in 3rd gear?

I'll have to look up fluid film..I've never heard of it? All our trucks are getting old and I hate the thought of a newer truck with the emissions garbage. As far as the frame I think we've had enough oil leaks to preserve it! :p . I bought this one at a truck auction in '07 when it was 10...
In this case, I would troubleshoot backwards. Fuel system first. From tank to carb, everything must be pure, clean fuel. As mentioned, I'd start at the tank forward. And see AT THE CARB, what the fuel system is sending it.
