When left alone and well maintained…therein lies the problem that a lot of people have. 50+year old wiring harnesses with unknown corroded or partially broken wires coupled with aftermarket stereos, amplifiers, electric fans, fuel pumps, and the list goes on… The more loads placed on the factory...
Just be prepared for the new sending unit to not read correctly on the gas gauge. It’s a known issue with all the sending units. Also, use your original lock ring if at all possible.
It’s actually the 3rd one I’ve seen there this month. Kinda unusual really. They are super common once you get out farther towards the river but not usually seen in this area. Always gotta be paying attention to where you’re walking and what’s under the pallet you are planning to move
Just don’t ground it for very long…
Only long enough for the gauge to read. It should move almost immediately when you ground it as stated above. If it doesn’t respond within just a few seconds it’s not going to.
Mine always told me whenever I was working on something to wear safety glasses. “You only get one chance with your eyes, protect them, wear your safety glasses.”
The M&H harnesses are strictly the base harness and don’t include any of the aux harnesses.
The harness you are dealing with in your dash is what’s know as the A01 light package.
Ignition time delay light.
Ash tray light.
Glove box light.
Map light.
Trunk light.
Mymopar.com has links to the factory wiring diagrams. I think based off your drawing, the spooky connector goes to the map light itself. The other connector would be for the ignition light time delay capacitor, it’s not a relay.
