Tips on lifting in rear diff

Balance it on a floor jack. The whole assembly? Do you have the leaf springs disconnected at the rear? If you do you can bolt the wheels on and roll it into place.

2 hours for the dealership to test the charging system?

I could see that. I remember talking to a dealer service manager about a high end battery tester when I was selling tools. He "had to" have one with a printer. Way too many techs replacing batteries that weren't bad.

Tips on lifting in rear diff

Any tips on putting in a rear diff by yourself? Car is up on Jack stands, but there’s not a ton of room under there. I got the old diff out, which I just dropped onto some lumber. Trying to the lift the new rear differential into place laying on my back with it by my side is not going well, just...

2 hours for the dealership to test the charging system?

There is probably a authorized test procedure they have to follow for warranty repairs with a test results print out that is included with the repair order. The 5 min test is probably a hand held tester like the parts store uses. If you are looking to get warranty work done at no charge, you...

2 hours for the dealership to test the charging system?

I'm at the stealership with my 2023 Challeger T/A 392 for a battery and charging system test under factory warranty. They informed me it will take 2 hours for a test under warranty or a few minutes for a handheld test not covered by warranty. Autozone performed a test yesterday and said the...

An Interesting Take on Ford vs Ram Trucks...

While I could fork over for a new truck, won’t do it. I’ve ridden in and drove a few of them. They have more gadgets I don’t want. I’ve owned only Dodge since my first truck, a ’97 1500 and two Dakotas with a ’91 2500 Dodge for 20-years for plowing and when I’ve needed a full-size box. It’s in...

I worked my last Friday ever

There are no definite right or wrong answers on the question of when to retire, or whether it's financially prudent, because none of us know exactly how long we are going to live. Another quote I remember from the experts was that about half of retirees are in a poor financial position for a...

NAILED IT...Maybe?? 69 GTX headliner install first try

Agree with all above. You are close but those are not wrinkles that will smooth out with heat. The headliner was one of the hardest things and more tiring things for me to do on my resto. Working over your head isn’t fun. Keep at it. I also had to trim the sleeves back more than I expected, to...

I worked my last Friday ever

About 20% of Americans 65 and over received at least 90% of their total incomes from Social Security. Social Security alone was never considered sufficient for a secure retirement. I was never worried about SS going away, it won't. If it did, the whole country would collapse. My biggest worry...
