Legal issue with VIN on a B-J car today?

I see cars being restored where just about every piece is replaced including radiator support and trunk rail, does that mean they’re not legitimate cars if they have a title that matches dash vin tag? These cars have been around 50+ years and been driven year round used abused and crashed. Full...

    Vacuum advance

Geoff, I do see the advantage with stock distributors, but with shortened advance curve allowing 20-22* initial that doesn’t ping and not kicking back? Like others have said it depends, either could be made to work well.

    Vacuum advance

I’m with threewood, if you have a recurved advance unit which enables high initial timing to get desired idle with correct primary blade position and desired total then I don’t see the advantage. Stock everything, then yes manifold would be an advantage.

    Vacuum advance

Planning ahead and thinking about vacuum advance adjustment. Have my initial and total set and ran out of weather before I could dial in vacuum. I’ve watched Tall John’s video on how he does it, and have read putting vacuum gauge where it can be seen while cruising on flat road and using mighty...

Took a few plugs out they all look the same, odd color could be from Techron added. Been in for 17 years time for new ones.

G haven’t checked it hooked up to vacuum can just with vacuum gauge to manifold that’s where I’m getting 14 in park 10 in drive

I put carb back together left weight over ball in pump well and put pump with stiffer spring/orange cup using Edelbrock 3/8 spacer under carb. Set primary blade with .020 t slot showing. I’m hoping I can get vacuum up with timing to allow use of vacuum advance from manifold and not have big drop...

    Edelbrock 1407

Pulled distributor cap off and connected Mitivac to canister, plate starts moving at 6hg and stops advancing at 12, holds pressure fine. Not sure what this means in terms of vacuum advance. Carb is not back on yet so not sure on PCV. Hopefully weather holds out. Is dimension of accelerator pump...

    Edelbrock 1407

YY1, yes agree, went through carb to clean, checked idle speed screw to check where it needs to be to get .020 exposed transfer slot, reset float height and drop, new pump assy going to start with yellow step up springs hopefully with vacuum from manifold it will increase vacuum . Car does not...

G thank you for the info, 22* is vacuum disconnected, when connecting to manifold vac it increases to 32* but I neglected to check vacuum number. I really didn’t like the rpm drop from park to drive if I remember correctly it was a 200rpm drop. But if it brings vacuum up enough for smooth idle...
