If you do the math the side clearance isn't the restriction of oil exit flow at the rod bearing. It's the rod bearing to crank clearance. I've never talked to anybody that ran wide side clearance where it caused an issue.

100 miles is not age, it is wear. Could be 10 years old with 0 miles and be bad tires because of age.
Check D.O.T. numbers for age.
