Welding observations that I have made....

Thanks! I seen those on Amazon and was not sure if they were any good, but they are 10x cheaper than the big name cutters. I wired a 125 Amp Sub-Panel in my garage, but just have a 60 Amp main breaker because it is wired with 4 AWG wire. I currently have two 50-Amp 220 Volt NIMA 14-50 Plugs...

WTB 1966 Dodge Coronet, 2 – door Sedan, OEM windshield upper inside trim clips

I bought some from Stephen’s preformance. On a side note, I ended up putting a 1/4 in aluminum pop rivet in some of them to hold them in place. Once the headliner is installed they are not visible

    Stock steering box bolts?

1966 and earlier used 7/16" bolts. The Borgeson would be drilled for 1/2" bolts. What year is your car?

Welding observations that I have made....

I just bought an Arcaptain 50 for only a $169!! cuts up to a 1/2" and love it, the only problem is when I use it in the 240V mode, I only have one outlet, which is normally no problem, either welder or air compressor plugged in, so I had to get a splitter cord...

Suggestions wanted for QUIET good flowing mufflers (sleeper build)?

The DynoMax Super Turbos are known for their good flow, quiet sound, and reasonable cost. You can get them in 3" in/out also. Most of the "quiet" mufflers only go up to a 2-1/2 In/Out size and I think are more restrictive. I put Chrysler Imperial (large case size) 2-1/2" in/out Walker Quiet...

    1970 Coronet R/T Project (Dasfusca's Car)

I worked on the AC. The rubber lines would land on the exhaust manifold, so to stop this, I am making a bracket out of a heater hose holder. Same job different side of the engine. I had to fabricate a twisted mount to support the the lines. I am attaching it to the exhaust manifold. Didn’t...

    Driveway wheel alignment.

How does one do step #1? The steering wheel on my wagon was never centered. I replaced the entire front suspension, including the steering box, and it is the same.

    Flat Orange General Lee? Opinions.

My friend has a 70 General Lee Charger. It's a great looking car,it gets tons of attention everywhere he takes it. He was going to swap the nose to a 69,but I told him to paint the front bumper instead. His car is a real 440 Charger R/T. I said if you ever want to return the car back to original...

    Wideband o2 for tunning

You could install the Carb Cheater and just let the computer adjust the AFR automatically for around $500. It works on any carburetor. I have not used one but it sounds like a winner for a novice and it's quite a bit cheaper than a fuel injection conversion. Thunderhead289 sells them.

Ballast resistor or no ballast resistor

On the stock ECU, the 5-pin module used the dual ballast resistor with the 5-Ohm section feeding into the fifth pin which connected to a Zener diode inside the box to create a voltage regulator for the ECU. The latter 4-pin ECUs just put the 5-Ohm power resistor inside the ECU. I don't know...

    Flat Orange General Lee? Opinions.

Imo have to have the flags on the back, and the vinyl top trim, if it can be found. I was talking to a guy at Carlisle, I said I prefer the Georgia style and he described all the details, which included the above stuff, and the fact that they gave up using the wheel lip trim because it kept...

Welding observations that I have made....

After welding school, I bought a Miller Dynasty 280 DX Tig runner setup. pricy (I think around $9K) but nice with the wireless foot control and water cooled. Seems it was discontinued and replaced with the Dynasty 300 DX at an even higher price point around $15K (ouch). I use the Miller for AC...
