Its more of a whirring sound, its definatly trying to do something!!!

Tried to search this subject, but didn't seem to find anything. My top motor runs when I hit the switch, but does not activate the top cylinders. Low on oil?? If so what is required to fix it. This is a car that has been restored, but has been sitting for a couple years.

Cool beans....My intake is off right now so its easier to see the drive gear. If I'm reading the above right, I don't need to worry so much how the gear goes back in as log as I need to basic time the distributor anyway!??!

I'm a welder by trade.Any one know what allen wrench size it is? I'll make one if I can. Also, this engine was aquired in a swap. How do I tell if the intermediate shaft and gear are correct to begin with??? Looks like it has a new cam, its covered in assembly lube.

Is there any way to prime a big block 426 wedge motor before firing??? Dave!!!

I ended up shortening it about 2 inches. The yoke itself went all the way into the trans, so I don't think there was a snapring. Hope it works!!!!

Never had any numbers on it, the pad over the oil pan id blank too.

I didn't get pulleys with the motor, and I have collected enough of them to stack to the ceiling!!!!Thanks for the warnings on the damper, I'll change it back. But then I'll be back in the same boat as far as fitting up pulleys.....How do you know the difference between B and RB motors. There...

Allright..........I've got a 65 Dodge I put a 426 wedge into. I thought that was enough trouble...but..I finding out different!!! After 2 sets oh headers, buying all the proper mounts and brackets,changing oil pans twice...I'm having a B.... of a time with the pulleys!!! I thought last night...

No, its just a cast sleeve that fits into the dist. hole to raise the dist. up.I'd hate to be looking for one of these!!!!

Ok, got a good one for ya, check out the pics. The round cast piece was in the dist. hole when I got the engine. The dist. of course won't go in far enough with this thing in there. It seems to fit fine going straight into the block. I got the clean (short)dist. with the engine, the greasy one(...

I think the engine i have has some misplaced rockers. Looks like some aren't hitting the valve stems correctly. Can I just take the assembly off and rearrange them
