A few, not all. First one was the KillerBox, a 510 Datsun, WAY back in the day. The Ford Fiesta was Boxlet, followed by Piglet, a Ford Fairmont and of course the Nuclear Truklet, which I have discussed on here before. Naming took a couple of decades break until a few years ago, when the wife...
Power comes in from the harness to the board pins, thru the lightbulb and to ground thru the screws that screw the circuit board to cluster casting. Screwing the cluster to the dash (and dash to the car) completes the grounding of the circuit board to the car frame ground. (You need to make sure...
I don't name my cars beyond the factory names. However, I had a beater Ford in college that earned the nickname UEV - Urban Eyesore Vehicle. It was a spin-off of the Urban Assault Vehicle from Stripes.
Interesting! I sold a ’63 Imperial wheel not long ago and it has a large padded center section (see photo). The wheel shown sure looks like a ’64 Chrysler wheel (red one in photo) I have been thinking about the possibility of it fitting in my ’63. Off hand though I wasn’t sure about the fit as...

Of course the Plymouth was MAX! My first car, the '59 Sport Suburban Golden Commando was Thunder Pig! My 1960 Mercedes 190 Diesel was Liebschen. And yes it was parked next to MAX at one point and I had both ends of the acceleration curve! I've had four 1 ton vans all named Three Ton Tessie I II...
Well that’s it… there is no preload being applied over the needle shaft… spring is loose althought still somehow keeping some tension. Broken bushing (total or partially)
It should in fact read even more than 20 miles over the real speed while going faster.
Check the thread I posted. Tricky...
My only car without a name is my Charger. I’ve had it since 82, and I didn’t think of naming cars back then. Now it just doesn’t work for me.
I just name the rest for fun, and since I usually have multiples of the same type/model, it’s usually color related.
FJ 1 - Cherry Chunk
FJ 2 - Greener...
Wow. That is all I got. Simply amazing. Article and car. That car is perfection beyond my comprehension. Best of luck John, to find time to enjoy the car and with your son's acting career. Please keep us updated on both. By chance, if you could find a way to present it at MCACN this year I could...
BOB:
Thanks for the info but..
The UJ-11G and HO-8A are made outside the USA, and I have some apprehension about their quality...
Note that they may just be fine...
But in today's global sourcing world outside the USA, I like to stick to good ole established/known USA made stuff when...
"The Palm Reader" doing his best at what else.........Reading. This guy knows sensitive wafer thin gauge metals and aluminum panels like no other. His process is looooonng, but neat and razor straight. This time around he's been instructed not to create a concourse level masterpiece, just...
In another thread (possibly on a-bodies)one poster was trying to decide between a $140 lead acid, and a $440 odyssey.
So it looks like it might run about $900 plus tax?
I came to the conclusion that two lead/acid batteries at $140 ea makes better fiscal sense for my diesel too.
...fuel and lubed with castor oil. The plugs are available on line/ebay , likewise the UJ-11G plugs are also available on line. In my RS23V0A ****** 1970 GTX, a 6 barrel car, 4 speed with 4.10 Dana rearther plug work extremely well.....
There is nothing sacred about using non standard plugs...
