    Well, we are talking about basic oval circuits… not like F1 with diff kind of circuits everywhere and higher top speeds. I don’t think a small oval circuit diff between them would require a totally modified car on body.

    Either the race car was shortened from the rear wheel opening to the bumper or the trunk was raised. Look at how much thicker it looks at the very end of the car.

    Keep in mind that at this point in time, Petty had super speedway, speedway, short track and road course cars. All purpose built for one type of track. And back up cars too!!

    NASCAR driver Richard Petty pilots his No. 43 car on February 15, 1975 The Charlotte News I keep my opinion… dozen of these cars pics while racing and no one shows or noticed a shortened car anywhere. We are talking about this just by a single pic on a weird angle or ilusión.

    I live on a two lane state road out in the country somewhat. When driving I don't like to be tailgated, but also if the gap behind gets to big, they seem to forget your up there when we get into the hills and valleys on the way home. So, what I started doing back it the mid 80's was to slow...

    How do you figure that? The guts of a steering box don't have the ability to rotate the tie rod sleeves.

    If the 'play' in the steering wheel is due to a worn steering box, then that can cause toe out, & tyres to wear on the inside.
