71 hemi charger restoration. Pikes peak raced hemi car

Interesting. I see an 8-3/4 axle... so this car was an automatic and raced as such? Glad to see you are restoring it to as-raced condition instead of something else. Very cool project.

    Fan belt rant

I run Conti that I got from summit. Rockauto used to have them too. I think Goodyear owns them now though. I just put on a Goodyear ps belt off Amazon, used an ac delco for the water pump. The conti ones on the ac are only a few years old and were a great match. Suppose I got lucky. I’ll tell...

    Geese Heading South Early?

...of hundred miles and as soon as it warms up a bit they come right back. I've seen them come back during the winter months when we get the rare 70* weather. You will also see them taking their offspring out for flights to get them in shape for longer runs. We had a two acre pond and every...

My 1978 Dodge Monaco 4 door sedan.

Here’s a neat trick for popping off that pesky drip rail molding: For those that don’t FB, he’s using the square end of an old bottle opener with some masking tape around it to protect the finish to very quickly pop the drip rail molding off of a ‘70-‘72 Chevelle…

    Recreating Grey Wrinkle Paint?

Your plan should work, get a thick coat of wrinkle on it and it will have good texture. Then after it dries for a few days put gray on top.

For Your Street Motors: Who Here Chose Manifolds And Who Here Chose Headers?

I have headers on four of my eight classic musclecars on the street. I have never really been able to feel the power advantage of headers of exhaust manifolds by the butt dyno except for maybe this one.... However, headers do make the exhaust louder and sound better. They also make access to...

When is enough going to be enough? Wtf?

I like it. I have had 2 Ramchargers and one Trail Duster, but they were all 77-79's with removable tops. Wish Dodge would have made a four door version like a Suburban.

    Recreating Grey Wrinkle Paint?

So, I have a small important project that requires grey wrinkle paint, in a spray can. Doesn't appear anybody makes it anymore. I found a source online that has NOS VHT engine grey wrinkle paint, but is asking $926 +tax for a single can, he will graciously include shipping. How about this...
