I don't think there is room (on the car) for the eccentric bolts to give any more adjustment than OE, so my bet is that they are simply replacement OE.
"Doing VINS" shouldn't be acceptable anywhere in this hobby.
If by "doing" you mean swapping.
Removing, restoring and replacing is another story and perfectly acceptable.
My experience is that the shops often don't use the correct glue, or not enough or ignore cure times. I had my most recent top put on by a marine upholstry shop. They put reference tape on the front and back glass to align the seams. I did the trim when I got the car home.
I already removed the ring gear from the converter. Only one tooth needs to be repaired. I’ll weld it up and file it. The ring gear isn’t hardened like the starter gear is. Been done many times. Just thought I’d ask if anyone knew of a source for a replacement ring.
And its also the last item to resist the two LCA halves from separating longitudinally as they encircle the TB adjuster pivot point. The needed resistance is minor based on proven millions of cars driving billions? of miles without an issue. However, that does prevent the OC crowd from adding...
Thanks for the input. Yes, I have reviewed the other threads. On that mustang link, if you scroll a page or two in, you'll see someone mention instability at 60 mph which is what gave me pause. Could be an anomaly. Pllus, as we know, tires are just one part of the whole package for stability...

It turns out the person selling it does not want to ship it so it's out of the question now. I think I will just go with my first thought and that was do a Pertronix Ignitor 2 conversion.
