I had an all original 71 gt 351c 4v in 1991.
It was one of the nicest condition "old cars" I've ever had.
Some ownership notes-
I agree it's a "wallower" compared to the B body cars I've owned.
It's hard as hell to get the *** end up like the above photos.
I could only manage to get mine...
The 71-74 "short" shifter is designed to be mounted on the rear mount point.
Actually, the "long" shifter also mounts on the rear, but has about a 10" "dogbone" mount, moving it forward quite a bit.
I think someone posted a decode guide for IBM cards on FBBO a while ago.
I'd work on that and see if the obvious options line up.
Also look for any OEM paint under things.
If we're already at the point where we are pretty sure the core support SO is different than the IBM card SO...we might...
If my wife survives me, she's smart enough to price accordingly, not to give it away, but not to have to sit on it very long.
The "kids" sure don't want any of that car related stuff, and are not even interested in our rental property.
Hopefully that will skip a generation.
If not, then I...
Those "fingers" are super tricky to get back.
They all have to be interlaced with the metal of the speedometer display.
It's almost enough to make a fellow not do that job, once you start removing the wheel assembly.
I was gonna say start at $2500.
It's solid looking.
Like KD said above, the whole "doghouse" is worth at least $750-$1000 in today's market.
8 3/4 center is worth about 200-250. Likely 2.94 gears.
Pushbutton trans are worth something but to a limited market.
So we're back to-
Do the obvious options on the car (and tag if present) match the IBM card?
...and does the SO on the core match the tag (if present).
