71-74 B body. I'm not saying "no issues" at all. I'm just clarifying where the mount locations are on 71-74 B and 70-74 E body cars.

The 71-74 "short" shifter is designed to be mounted on the rear mount point. Actually, the "long" shifter also mounts on the rear, but has about a 10" "dogbone" mount, moving it forward quite a bit.

I think someone posted a decode guide for IBM cars on FBBO a while ago. I'd work on that and see if the obvious options line up. Also look for any OEM paint under things. If we're already at the point where we are pretty sure the core support SO is different than the IBM card SO...we might be...

To my knowledge, only black or white are available repro.

The vinyl is what traps water and makes it rot, not the lead. Don't put that back on and you'll be much better off no matter what filler you use.

Those "fingers" are super tricky to get back. They all have to be interlaced with the metal of the speedometer display. It's almost enough to make a fellow not do that job, once you start removing the wheel assembly.

I was gonna say start at $2500. It's solid looking. Like KD said above, the whole "doghouse" is worth at least $750-$1000 in today's market. 8 3/4 center is worth about 200-250. Likely 2.94 gears. Pushbutton trans are worth something but to a limited market.

So we're back to- Do the obvious options on the car (and tag if present) match the IBM card? ...and does the SO on the core match the tag (if present).

...or making it like it was purchased from the dealer.

Is the SO number not on the core support? That should match the fender tag, right?

SO number on card is- 4120802 Stamp on core support is awfully long ending in- 2509046

What about the obvious options on the car? Do they match the fender tag or the IBM card.....or both? YY1 bronze with a tan/bronze interior? I'd bet most folks that would swap a VIN on a car like that wouldn't bother to find a WL21 car to do it with. ...but that's just speculation.
