I just dumped:
Max wedge Clone engine (550+ HP Dale Reed built)
Hemi built 727 trans
three 1963 Dodge B-bodies
440s...
Heads...umm, another 440 w/ a 1970 build date complete with heads (Auto trans car)
GTO stuff (1970 Ram Air III engine etc)
A guideline...as nothing is Black & White.
1. Overheating at idle...typically means slow coolant flow due to numerous reasons such as Radiator need "Rodded" as corrosion and sediment has slowed flow due to clogging of tubes or thermostat is not functioning properly or water pump isn't...
Don McKellar and his CAMs...my Pontiac History teacher taught me a lot. ****Must we forget?
****Corporate GM January 12th 1963?
General Motors demanded that any intermediate size car was prohibited from having any engine with a displacement of 400 CI or larger.
(Except for the Corvette...L88s...
Yeah, that is (was) the point...Heck...the 440 Six Pack properly tuned in street version gave some Hemi Guys fits...
But yeah, they just were not that common back in that era...and I'm betting the BEST NHRA and NASCAR team (s) got what they had...back then.
Gosh, imagine a 426 wedge w/ 13.5 to 1...
Yeah, I'm talking on the Street...
We ALL KNOW the 421 dominated Nascar in 62-63 and won the Pikes Peak Hill Climb etc...yeah, lightweights were in 63. (Swiss Cheese) Some 62s had the aluminum bumpers etc...I don't know. I have heard it go both ways...
I wish I had a 62 SD...hell I missed out...
I don't know where to go with this one...as I have a true love for the Pontiacs. I do know "on the street" the Mopars during the 62-63 years in the "B-body" 330s were much lighter than the Pontiac Catalinas.
Allegedly the Pontiac team came to Lyons in So Cal and boasted about the 421 SDs...
Selling both 63 dodge B-Bodies:
1. White 4-door is a 440 Model w/ 318 auto trans.
2. Black "Polara" is a failed Project.
Black Polara has perfect body.
Body was soda blasted-EDP coated and painted.
Black Polara has most trim for Polara.
Family issues forces sale. Great deal.
