Odd cooling issue. Would appreciate input

A guideline...as nothing is Black & White. 1. Overheating at idle...typically means slow coolant flow due to numerous reasons such as Radiator need "Rodded" as corrosion and sediment has slowed flow due to clogging of tubes or thermostat is not functioning properly or water pump isn't...

Yeah, that is (was) the point...Heck...the 440 Six Pack properly tuned in street version gave some Hemi Guys fits... But yeah, they just were not that common back in that era...and I'm betting the BEST NHRA and NASCAR team (s) got what they had...back then. Gosh, imagine a 426 wedge w/ 13.5 to 1...

I don't know where to go with this one...as I have a true love for the Pontiacs. I do know "on the street" the Mopars during the 62-63 years in the "B-body" 330s were much lighter than the Pontiac Catalinas. Allegedly the Pontiac team came to Lyons in So Cal and boasted about the 421 SDs...

The 426 Maxies were already available and the 426 Hemi was new w/ bugs in the system. Availability was the reason as the 426 wedge was very potent
