IIRC, my first pass was in the high 17's but had fun doing it. And it's been awhile for me going to a track to run something too.
I outlived two Houston area 1/4 mile tracks.....it sucks.....but there's an 1/8 mile track not to far but to me, 1/8 mile sucks.
When I worked days, I went to the...
I was doing that a lot of years ago.....and used many of them. I used to play a little game of installing the next larger carb on my engines just to see if the car would run a better ET. Ended up proving the "that's too big" crowd wrong. For better MPG, yeah, they were right but at the time, MPG...

Sure glad I don't have those problems. The new LT is over 2 years old now but the LT...
I've done lots of polishing on other things and can vouch on how long it takes to polish off .001" from even mild steel or something softer. It doesn't take forever but does take some time.....the softer materials are faster lol. Having a sanding belt attachment for a lathe sure helps with a...
The knurl on the crank is factory for a 'rope' seal which worked pretty well. Not so well with a lip seal. It needs to be polished off for the lip seal or go back to the rope/packing seal.
Well, she has two spares now....the original spare (still new) is now on a alloy 'snowflake' wheel that matches the others that came on the truck. The used tire spare is now on the steel wheel. Now I get to rotate the five snowflake wheels or replace a flat with it if that happens again and I'm...
