My '14 Grand Cherokee Summit came with factory HID projector beam headlights (D3S bulbs). After 110k miles...they were getting dim. The bulbs can build up a residue on the inside of the glass, from all the heat in the gasses inside the bulb. Think... smoke. I put new HID bulbs in a couple weeks...

Don't. The clippings need a smooth surface so they skate out and don't build up. Putting a liner inside will cause the clippings to build up and clog the discharge chute. If anything, coat it regularly with Pam cooking spray.
