If you run .060+ hg. May as well just throw the Trickflows in the scrap bin and use some 346 or 452 open chamber cylinder heads.

My new stock stroke 400 build

Have you considered a 'lunch box' (posi) unit? I love the highway gears and being able to run 80 or better (yes, Texas has some highways with 80 as the limit lol). Look into them. Some don't like them because they 'click' on turns but that never bothered me. Imo, the Suregrips are better but are...

Some more, and not too much of a swap meet. If don’t know if you looked at the swap meet Joe, but there was not too much there in my opinion. I think there was probably 8 vendors there….

measuring piston to deck clearance on 440 source dished piston

I'm not sure tf will sell a single bare head. Frankly, I'd run the .125 gasket, and not worry a minute about quench. Nice to have, not essential. I'd much rather have a pump gas compatible engine, which to me is about 9.5 to 1 (without a 250° at .050 cam. 10.5 with that much cam) Note: mopar...

    Petcock leaking

I know sometimes I'll turn it the wrong direction thinking you turn it to the right to tighten it but it's actually the opposite to cut it off. I've had them both ways.

A833 4 speed second gear trouble

At a shop I used to work at about 10 years ago, I worked on a first gen Camaro with a Hurst setup. Had a problem getting into gear, believe it was 1-2, although could have been 3-4. The rod was bent more than it should have been. Got a replacement and took care of that problem. One nice thing...

A833 4 speed second gear trouble

I’ve noticed that some rebuild kits don’t have new brass syncro rings. I’ve only worked on a Muncie and a Toploader but I couldn’t imagine tearing a transmission apart and not replacing the brass rings. But if it’s a syncro issue you probably will have a grunch noise or grinding trying to get...

I’m sorry too. I was looking forward to hopefully meeting some new folks and seeing some old ones, but it just did not work out. Oh well, hopefully next year!

reverse light location on the lower dash

Can anyone tell me the correct location on the lower dash lip for the location of the reverse light? Change from an auto to a 4 speed. Thanks

    Petcock leaking

On mine, I put a brass 90, a small ball valve, then a nipple. No more leaks, and if I need to drain, it doesn't spray all over the k-frame and everything else. Also, I can put a length of hose on it and drain it directly into anything.
