    69 charger restored

This vehicle was almost completed but they couldn't get it to run. I got it running (makeshift timing marks) but it is having issues with the cooling system. Car will reach running temp in just a matter of seconds. When the motor was rebuilt, they put a water pump on that has inlet on passenger...

What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

I've had numerous issues starting last year. My left eye had a retinal detachment that required major surgery and a scleral band to fix. It resulted in my left eye being forced inward and cocked a bit, so I've had to get glasses with strong prisms to address that. But the vision in my left eye...

Weekend project: new carpet in the 69 GTX

Steam is steam ... anything that makes steam and is easy to handle will work. I used a clothes steamer I borrowed from a friend.

    Misaligned belts.

Did you change anything? Did they align before? Another example of "pulley hell". Typically caused by mixing years and/or AC and non-AC parts. Both belts are off? By the same amount? Washers behind bracket at the pump might be an option for that.

I'm very sorry to learn of his passing. I also spent quite a bit if time sending notes back and forth with him to help him with his cars. It was also great to meet him at Carlisle. The world has lost another true car guy, but mostly, his family has lost him. My deepest condolences to all family...

    LS swap ?

I'd use a M.H B.B or 360 magnum as a starting point b4 an L.S..... or sell the mopar n get a g.m body n chassis. I just watched a tear down of a 7.3 GOZILLA engine where the cam roller self destructed by grooving a cam lobe & sharting on 2 piston skirts?. They state all of the newer engines were...

I feel your pain. I had eye surgery yesterday - it's called a Vitrectomy and they basically suck all the goop out of the inside of your eye. No flying or major altitude changes until the bubble they inserted dissolves...

62 Belvedere 318 poly granny cruiser (one day i hope)

just doing some research.. seems these cheap carters are known to be noisy and die randomly.. And a old style bolt together one is now $200... wtf.. Mancini sells a bolt together one for $86 but it looks like the cheap pump with a flange for screws... I think i kept my 1962 pump.. thinking...

    Random picture thread

I see GoPro cameras mentioned above. I've been seeing LOTS of dissatisfaction with them lately. We rented one on our first zipline trip, and it only worked one time, when we were not actually ziplining. The place gave us our money back and apologized profusely. I know they started the trend, but...

    New Dynamic Torque Convertor Leaking

I'm sure they will fix it. But the time and trouble to diagnose and repair is frustrating. I would not be happy. Labor, time, fluid. I will bet none of that is covered. I guess we will find out. Doug

That's a good point about the slick surface. These decks are notoriously thin gauge metal. LOTS of online complaints of them rusting through. Just trying to do some PM to prevent a second issue. I'm not the best with care and cleaning of lawn equipment. My 2002 Craftsman rider has never been...
