I just recently got around to reading "The Sebring Story" by colorful Russian immigrant MIT Aeronautical engineer race promoter Alec Ulmann.
The forward in the book (interesting read btw) is written by Briggs and the Collier brothers are mentioned often in the book. Collier County (Naples) just...
BTW, IMO, it worked out fairly well.
It was steel I used etch primer, applied the black wrinkle, and then the grey. The biggest shortcoming was the black wrinkle was not as even as I preferred, and being black that was hard to make out, when applying the grey, it was easy to spot the slight lack...
That is a new awareness on my part, being my new car repairs are rather limited
As much as I detest more regulations, and as long as NHRA requires new seat belts every 2 years, how about this law:
FMVSS? requires any part sold that requires removal of one time/torque to yield fasteners include...
"He told me the story of his father's experiences as a self-taught auto engineer and that he had actually worked with Duntov and Briggs Cunninham developing cars to compete against Ferrari at Lemans! "
It should be noted Briggs Cunningham's car won the 1953 Sebring 12hrs in his own car powered...
Explain first why a 1.625" OD? "tubular UCA's are needed at the least" to replace effectively a 3" 10 gauge I beam that has been supplied for nearly 2 decades almost unchanged, is still in use over 6 decades later and has a proven track record in billions? of miles.
Because the real stall speed is based on the engine's performance, and every car/engine combo is different. Advertised stall speeds are likely just an estimate mean for a typical combo. Testing one's combo tells an owner what they need to know. How can you not know that?
I have no car pic to post, but very few Dodges/Daytona's were blue from my memory at that time, and the pic at the proving ground sure looks like a two tone paint job, and Charlie and Buddy were if I remember right more Dodge drivers (vs Plymouth) which seldom at that time were ever blue...
It might have to with strong body odor allowing one not to have share a cubicle on the tube, based on my UK experience.
I confess, I never have to share my pizza when I order anchovies.
Of all our senses, smell is the first one to slowly decline from aging, and why old people often lose their appetite.
Meaning most old folks have little self-awareness of their declining hygiene, not so sure that is a bad or a good thing.
If nothing else, tells you who your real friends are...

That's what I want. Not sure what the rest of the car looks like, but cutting them out will definitely ruin the car?
You can unbolt or leave the hangers, I will toss them. If you can leave as much of the crossmember as possible, that will be a plus, and to repeat any frame rail and/or rocker...
Dumbest idea I heard this year was shared to a not very bright released convict who asked a group of "coworkers" what he legally could do to protect himself inside his home.
They suggested a Magnesium emergency flare gun. :realcrazy:
Not the hanger, I'm seeking the sheet metal that the hanger bolts to, both L & right sides, it likely has to be cut out, of a parted car, I am mainly interested in the metal that goes left to right, you can include whatever spot welded parts of the rear frame rail and the rocker panels you...
How about draining the oil, leave the plug out, shoot a tad of starting fluid into the oil pan thru the plug hole, stand back, light it, and let us know how it works out.
Probably should video it, it will make you famous on Utube.
Of course at your own risk.:bananadance:
