    A833 4 speed second gear trouble

    The reverse shift rod is installed backwards. Remove the reverse shift rod from both ends and reinstall it so you can not see the shift rod retaining clips. The adjustable end of the shift rod needs to be attached to the reverse shift lever on the transmission.
