I'm a rookie (1st water reel) so will find out. Plan to bring mine in during the winter, it's not exactly lightweight. At my age, three-years into the future being still able seems like a hope and a blessing, lol.
Was a great actor, director, producer, king of cool looks. Some outstanding movies. Sure made his mark with Sundance. Had it all; though not entirely, lost two children. He was a self-deprecating sort, actually said his looks could be a handicap, lol, some people have larger problems. Living...
After 40-years, finally said enough with the tangled hoses, re-winding hassles to store. Bought water and air hose reels month or so ago. The air hose reaches both garages and the water hose is over a 100-ft long. Don’t know why I didn’t do this years ago, like a lot of stuff I waited too long...
Yeah, good idea to inspect electrical connections and grounds. One time I had ghost stalling but with key run-on, that more often has been due to a ballast or ignition switch. In my case it was a poor connection at the BH (ignition wire). It seemed tight, but on closer looking, seemed some...
Yeah, it is a shame to see a novel vehicle destroyed. IMO the stolen parts inserted made a case for destruction. Insurance companies would not insure it and good luck getting a title. If trying to part it, another cost factor involved and bad idea selling stolen parts. Who knows what else was...
I’ll add another SORRY this happened. Always had a peeve about people tailgating for obvious reasons. Couple years ago, my wife was rear-ended in my Dakota I had just got done fixing up. New box, bumper, fenders, repaint, etc. I fixed the 3rd brake light that wasn’t working for a few months and...
Sorry to hear about this, first time I heard of bad experience with them. Good idea to try to go up the chain. I found the contact for the company president digging around and got a great response from him. Another time that didn't work...
After a terrible experience I had 50+ years ago selling my GTO to a dirtbag who destroyed it, have always wanted to have some assurance my old car would go to a nice home. I’ve had it 30-years, restored it, dropped cash in it, dripped blood on it, yeah anyone who has knows, knows what the story...
Same here, I’ve had AAA for decades and had to use them a half dozen times or more btw my vehicles and my kids, couple of deer hits, never for a changing a tire. One time my daughter hit a huge pot hole destroying the tire and wheel plus whacked out the alignment. The spare got me to the fix-it...
Yeah, I've had to use them a few times. In the case of a trashed tire that can't be repaired, a spare sounds nice to have to keep going with out a car carrier ride..
Had similar hassles when doing a brake conversion adding power. There were so many things I did can’t recall specifically what worked, here they are offhand:
Verify non-faulty booster and check valve doing a vacuum check (and no other leaks elsewhere)
Monitor what your idle and cruising vacuum...
Where I live there are just a few counties requiring an emissions test every other year. Sadly, I’m in one of those. Here once a vehicle reaches its 30th birthday, emission testing is no longer required. On the average, it’s a far stretch to find many people driving 30-year-old vehicles as their...
Speaking of Pontiacs, posted this story before, but it’s a memory I still like to vent on. As a jr in HS the first car I bought after driving dad’s 63 GP (389 tri) and mom’s ’66 T-bird, was a ’67 GTO vert. It had about every option possible and in pristine shape. Had no idea what a keeper that...
In my case, I was able to remove the bulkhead from the topside and also reconnect all the wiring. Ma mopar left enough slack wire to accommodate it. Was pleasantly surprised how nice the wiring and connections still were to the backside of the BH.
Here are a couple photos before and after.
Gone are the days reading stuff on paper, only time I do anymore is when waiting at the place I get my haircut or at the dentist having some magazines. I don’t see them at the clinics, maybe they think they spread germs. At the clinic I go to I can’t get a decent cell signal.
I have hundreds of...
