Hi guys.
Have another build on the go. This time a 360 LA 72 block.
Without all the details, some brief history is as follows. 10.5:1 KB, all new and machined parts. Block is one that I've had kicking around for some 10+ years. Originally it had 8:1 and mild cam. Was a short block for sure as...
You oil the parts after doing the black oxide process. After the oxide absorbs the oil you wipe off the excess, but they really don’t feel oily if that’s what you’re asking.
Yes, they do. Let me explain, as i think i jumped a little too far ahead for some of you.
If the machinist hands you your stuff back, unassembled, most guys have the responsibility to check ALL the passages and ensure that motor is clean and ready for reassembly. If the original heads are...
Any idea what that linkage set-up gained for them? Improved wet sump oil pan?
That 8.75" rear was unexpected, hemi/4 speed, 600? Hp 3500 lbs,500 miles
They require a additive for the gear oil. Unfortunately no longer available the best was from Chrysler and back in the day was made from Whale oil.
But Ford and GM still has additive along with part stores that have it.That will lessen the chatter on turns.
Do a search for more info on the additive.
What would be an acceptable sealant to lock the screw in oil pick up tube? Mine is not tight when it is in its proper location. Going another 330 degrees around isn't really going to work either, well, it could, but, the short block assembly, timing cover and water pump housing are all in...
If we really wanted to, we could criticize each other's cars until we're 6 feet under, including what the best brand of oil is, points or electronic, or what the correct degree of gloss is on a motor mount bolt head. If someone has their car looking a certain way, it's because that's the way...
The current draw for a typical OE oil filled coil is in the 3-5 amp range and vary depending on specific coil type and coils recommended ballast resistor, so what you are seeing seems normal. With key on, the ballast resistor is electrically in series with the coil as you see measuring at...
Hi everybody:
So I'm going into Save On Foods to get my stuff for the day. I take a greecie old shopping bag that I had spare oil in out of the shop truck so I don't have to pay for another in the store. What I said in the store never hit me until I got back to the truck. After getting my...
Yes, I understand, BUT pouring a little oil in a filter is not "filling it". You can't fill a filter on a BB Mopar. And I haven't done so in 55 years. Not sure what difference that would make anyway.
To add more cooking oil to the fire, here's another mention. LOL. I can see this whole thing turning into a food for thought fight. LOL.
NO NO NO!!!!! 1/4" is way too tight. Please don't set it to that.
3/8" min. 1/2" max. I shoot for 7/16"
sure 1/8", 1/4" etc will work, but here's what...
