Those are the pics from then I opened it for the first time. And I bought exactly the same shoes, so someone before me must have got the wrong shoes and I just followed.
Rear ones seems to be ok which makes me believe I should have gone with the same ones for the front (round holes on top)?
Hi all, I got this car some time ago, replaced the shoes but didn't think much of it until yesterday when I decided to buy a spring kit and replace what I had.
Straight to the point:
This front drum brake should have 2 of the same spring (the one on the right - long), yes?
Ans the rear works...
Sorry, but I'm lost now.
I was confident the seal would sit as image "B" but I removed a second one from another transmission and they were both installed as image "A".
So question is:
How should I install the kickdown seal?
Image A or B?
Thank you!
All sorted!
Seal received (bought 4) and replaced.
Same as the shift shaft, something was wrong with this one... it was upside down (photo of how it was installed originally)
Thank you all once again.
Got to LOVE this forum, thank you SO MUCH for this. I'm glad I didn't put the pan back yet.
Life is easier when you know what/where to look at.
Ordering it right know!
Life saver! Thanks again.
Unfortunately not, couldn't find it anywhere in the UK, Rockauto (which is the best place for us) don't have the item and ebay postage prices are a joke.
Hi all, out of curiosity... I'm replacing the shift shaft seal (which was completely loose) and I noticed there was an o-ring under it?
Any idea why?
Maybe it was in the seal for some reason?
Sounds a bit weird...
Thanks.
Thanks Mopar Hunter.
And before someone points it out, if choosing the same item under a different car (70 Coronet 318) it shows the same items under the "shift shaft seal", but this time including the 727. (Which doesn't show in the image in the first post)
Hi all, I need a quick help/guidance here.
My 727 is leaking badly from the seal. I thought it was the shift shaft seal and was about to order one when I notice this "manual shaft seal" option? (as picture)
What's the difference? Are they the same, or completely different ones?
And do I need...
Hi, I'm replacing outer bearing and decided to replace both and seal, since I was at it.
Question is.... shouldn't the old inner race be seating flush?
Look at te picture, it's half way?
I'm was going to install the new one but decided to ask here before I make a mess.
And I'm pretty sure...
Right, I have BRAKES!
Don't ask, I have no idea what worked. I did absolutely EVERYTHING:
-All cylinders open, gravity bleeding for 5 hours - didn't work
-With only one cylinder open, I pressed the pedal and let it return EXTREMELY SLOWLY...
-Pressed the pedal several times with cylinders...
