Just went back out to the car… i definitely have a 3 speed wiper, and all 3 speeds work as they should. I can shut off a number of times, and parks in same place each time…..if i put wiper blades on, goes bazurk! Starts out going further down then up about 1/2 way.

I thought it was ok when I repeatedly turn the switch on and off, and it seemed to auto park in same spot… threw the arms on, turned on the switch- bam! Arms go “further down” onto the cowl grille and back up then i turned off and they stopped in middle of windshield! Cant trust it, gonna wreck...
So im having issues with the wiper motor that came on a car i bought that needed reassembly. Finally getting to the wipers…. They work fine, both speeds and off. I’ve tried without the arms on. But for some reason this motor has auto park and it never does in the same spot. After a quick picture...
I would tend to agree with that, however, motor has not run in the car, so im guessing the original owner left the seal off?
Should i cut that plastic ring off for now? Any safety issues driving car like it is?
Are there any safety issues if i do not get to this right away? Should i just cut the nylon piece off?
Did you see any issues with the angle of the steering column where it enters the steering box coupler?

68 Charger-See picture… what is this loose plastic ring? Where does it belong?
And looking closely at the steering coupler area, as that slight angle (not straight) should be a concern?

See pic of 68 charger rear outside window chrome… how does this get mounted between body and window felt? Maybe just slides in behind the window felt?
