I tried to bend the one that was in the car. It does test ok outside the tank, if I hold it the opposite way it belongs in the tank, then the gauge will go to 3/4. I'm thinking it's just the wrong sending unit the guy before me put in.

More detailing will come after I pour the clear epoxy river. A good start. I'll set the bridges, tracks, and roads after I lay out the rest of the layout. It's 12 foot along the wall and 8 foot out, minus the 4 by 5 center cut out.

Reverse is never quite as sure as the forward gears since it lacks synchronization. But if by sticky you mean getting all the way over into the gate - yes, some more fine tuning on the shifter adjustment and rods will probably help.
