Without the rod attached it goes in and out of reverse perfectly. But once the shifting rod is attached, that is when there is a bit of binding and trouble going into gear. I will check the rods but the revers rod is very distinctive from the others on this set up

Continuing on with cleaning and repairing the widow parts. I soaked the bolts/nuts and mounts in evaporust for a couple of days. I then blasted everything in my cabinet. I then applied a black oxide treatment to all of the bolts/nuts and some of the mounts.

Those brackets you have are 1970 and newer brackets for a passenger side lower radiator hose. They are not going to fit your engine no matter how much time you spend on them.
1969 small blocks have a drivers side lower hose and the PS brackets and set up is totally different.
