Thats the upper bearing and retainer, but where does the column end seal go? Does that go before the lower bearing and retainer? I need this and the bearing. This one is shot to sheet.

Pump and front bracket looks correct. Rear bracket is wrong.
Now look at my photos again. See the step in the rear bracket? Do you have one like that.
Take that bracket off the cylinder head, it's wrong and in the way.
Post #17 is a good example on 1970 and newer attachment.
Does it have a manual valve body?
If so, get it high gear rolling along steady at about 15-1700rpm.
Stab the throttle, the tac will jump right up to a certain rpm and then pause there. That’s the effective flash stall speed.

Any carb will do that if the jetting and idle mixture is not set correctly. If you don't want to change the cam, just learn to adjust the carburetor you have. Hesitation off idle..probably lean jetting or insufficient accelerator pump shot. Good luck with your carb tuning journey.
