It ended up being the new engine mount. I foolishly assumed it wasn’t that because it had less than 1000 miles on it. Rookie mistake, lesson learned.

Had several surgeries that I was not allow to shower or bath for at least a month. Sponge bath just doesn't do it. My 3 day backpacking trips seemed like a walk in the park compared to that...lol!

It doesn’t fit in that orientation. The adjustment hits the 1-2 rod

The reverse shift rod is installed backwards. Remove the reverse shift rod from both ends and reinstall it so you can not see the shift rod retaining clips. The adjustable end of the shift rod needs to be attached to the reverse shift lever on the transmission.
