The gears inside are plastic. If they are worn, they could be skipping under a load. Then again the parking function may not be completed with no load.
Here’s the new converter, a lot better weld, arrived on Monday, pressure checked the new converter, checked trueness of the pump drive hub along with flex plate. Had the transmission all buttoned up and ready to install the driveshaft, I forgot to fill the converter! Out comes the transmission...
just putting it out there, before you take apart the wiper motor clean up the ground strap (brass strip under one of the mounting nuts and where the screw on the motor) to see if that helps or check the dash switch is to see if it is grounded properly.
