Is there a quality LED replacement bulb for the bulbs in the 66/67 instrument cluster that is brighter? One that someone has actually used? Also preferably ones that are dimmable but there may not be such a thing.
As I said in my previous comments I’m planning to use Digi Tail led tail lights that are $295 a set. They are much brighter than any ledbulbs.
They provide another level of safety just like the Daytime Running lights that I am trying to figure out in this post.
Here is video of them:
??? Are you expecting them to melt or what ???
I installed LEDbulbs on all exterior lights (Amazon). I keep the parking lights on - even at shows - they consume virtually no power.
Hi Dan
My 1966 Coronet takes 158 bulbs from the factory.
So did your instrument panel take any of the 158/168/194 bulbs? If so, did you use the super brights? Polarity issues with the 158/168/194 bulbs?
Or was it all BA9s? How did they work out?
Thanks, Ben

I ordered up LED units for my 67 wagon. I also ordered a flasher unit for the LED's. Got all of the exterior bulbs in, switched out the flasher, but no functioning there. Then I remembered there was another LED flasher with a separate ground lead on it. Got that today, tried it out, still no...
...out. Got them from classic in a week. I gotta tell you I am VERY impressed with the results. Very good quality and instructions. I had previously installed just the LEDbulbs and they were certainly better than the incandescent bulbs but nowhere near the Digitails. I highly recommend them.
I watched the video and the Putco's are by far the brightest. With the brake lights on, the perimeter is red but the center is bright white, more like a headlight. I'd want a brighter red brake and taillight, rather than just brighter. Just one man's opinion.
...bulbs were already LED when we moved in, and I replaced most of the others that weren't. We have probably 50+ small 'can' lights that are all LED. I've replaced 2 in 7 years.
Some of the other LEDbulbs don't last nearly as long, but overall far, far longer than any incandescent bulbs I use.
After researching the forums I am going to get my bulbs from here

The correct incandescent bulb for my 74RR instrument cluster is 158. This LED bulb says 168. My question is this the right bulb and...
I bought LEDbulbs to replace the CFLs a few years ago. Most were Ecosmart brand purchased at Home Depot. I kept the boxes and receipts. The first couple years the LEDbulbs were lasting about 3-6 months. I would pack the burned out LEDbulbs when I had a full box and return to HD for...
...courtesy lights in my '70 Charger, just waiting on one more item to arrive from Amazon...I'll post it in Grendel's project thread. Those bulbs you linked are the more modern wedge slot type, though. You can buy LEDbulbs, like the #57's, that have the original push-and-twist round metal bases.
I’ve had a lot of early led bulb failures. Also had problems with ledbulbs in exterior motion detector and photocell fixtures, both rapid flashing and just plain failures.
